Anyone see the new trailer yet?

I'm pretty geeked-out over it, despite some suspect moments.  Thoughts?

The original movie was never based on a game, it was just a stand-alone movie.  It almost single-handedly started public interest in computers and gaming.

I saw the movie some time ago. Visually impressive, but as it is a 3D movie the story is less than inspired.

Yeah, I was rather pleased that it wasn't offensive though.  Some really bad acting and scripting marred Avatar overall as a film, and I liked the fact that Tron Legacy was at least competent from most standpoints.  As a brainless successor to a beloved brainless movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have seen Both Tron Movies.

I saw the original back in 1982 when I was a wee nipper ;)
At the time I would have to say it was a mindblowing film, great original story which I believe probably spawned remakes all the way up to (and including) The Matrix!

No doubt there are Sci-fi books which precede Tron but for me personally, I see Tron as the Grandaddy to so many Films that followed in its wake.  It is dated now but if you can remember life before mobile phones and wireless internet and factor that into the equation then ... well just try to remember !

So, when I got round to seeing Tron-Legacy I was a bit disappointed.
I was so disappointed that I had to rewatch the original just to get some perspective on the remake ...

I am gonna have to watch Legacy again .. it was so unremarkable I have erased the memory already.  Although, i did like the cheesy effect of pasting Jeff Bridges youger face onto his opponent CLU.

ok .. I take it back .. Tron Legacy is an Excellent Film.
It took a while for me to fully appreciate it ..
I guess all this modern living has corrupted my files.
But having watched Tron II (and Tron I) a few more times I really get it now.
Epic Fantasy Film !
and the Graphics are superb :)
